You work here, you play here, now help keep Casco Bay healthy. Friends of Casco Bay’s award-winning Water Quality Monitoring Program is gearing up for our 2008 sampling season. We are looking for new volunteers to join the ranks of our citizen scientists who now sample at 40 sites around the Bay.
“These citizen scientists are a critical part of our research staff. They sample simultaneously across the bay to provide a coherent appraisal of the overall health of the Bay,” says Citizen Stewards Coordinator Peter Milholland.
All samples are collected twice a day (7:00 AM & 3:00 PM) on select Saturdays, April through October. As a volunteer, you will be trained in EPA-approved sampling methods.
