Wild & Scenic Film Fest

About the Film Festival

Friends of Casco Bay is proud to host the Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Festival on Saturday October 4th at Abromson Auditorium in Portland. This nationally-touring festival features films that seek to enhance environmental awareness and inspire action.

Created by a river conservation group in California, the festival has grown to become the largest environmental film festival in the country. Friends of Casco Bay is delighted to have been selected as the organization in Maine to host this festival, and we are planning a celebratory gala in Portland.

Thank You for Sponsors

THANK YOU to all those that voted for the People's Choice Film.  After all the votes were counted, Oil & Water Project was the clear winner. This light-hearted documentary follows two kayakers as they embark on a 35,000 km road trip from Alaska to Argentina in a retro-fitted Japanese fire truck - without using a single drop of petroleum.  Travel with this dynamic duo as they search for the best whitewater in the Americas and advocate for alternative energy all along the way.  You can watch the trailer here.

The biggest environmental film festival in the nation is coming to Portland — don’t miss it!
